High in the mountains of Ituango, Antioquia, coffee has been part of the Tapias family for around 50 years. It began with a grandfather, and today lives on in the third generation at Finca Tesorero, where Román Tapias and Adriana Tapias cultivate coffee at approximately 1,650 metres above sea level.

Ituango is not as widely known for coffee as Antioquia’s more famous regions. For years, the challenges faced by the area made it harder for local coffee-growing families to share their work beyond their mountains. Yet the coffee has always been there, shaped by the land, the altitude and generations of knowledge.

There is even a small memory that remains from the beginning: the mule the grandfather worked with was called Eloísa. A simple detail, but one that reminds us of where this story started with family, land and hard work.

Today, that story travels further.

The green coffee from Tesorero makes its way from Ituango to the Netherlands, where we roast it in small batches to reveal its natural character.
